My drama for the day...

My liquid, pre-surgery, diet starts today. I'm not going crazy yet. Any tips for me during this week? I have surgery on 10 days.

Keep your eye on the prize.  It won't always be easy, but it will be worth it!

I'm starting mine today too. I'm wanting to do the three hardest days while I am off for the long weekend. Day 2 and 3 are harder than day 1. Day 1 your body interprets as a bizarre schedule. Day 2 and 3 it's beginning to think you are starving to death that very minute. (at least for me that's how it was the last time)

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm surviving, but it's tough. I'm just babying myself today.

I agree with Purple Passion's advice:  keep your eye on the prize.  It'll seem like a long 10 days, but in the big scheme of things it's a relatively short period of time.  Have a plan for what you're going to do when you have moments when it's really tough:  call a friend, look through the information from your surgeon, clean something, go for a walk, read a book, drink some water, come online to OH and read some posts for inspiration.

You can and will do this, and it will be well worth it in the end -

I didn't have to do the ten-day liquid pre-op, but after the surgery, it wasn't too bad.   I am not sure what you can and can't have, but post-op, I could have anything liquid I wanted.  Didn't have to worry about calories....so of course, I didn't!

Good luck....and remind yourself that the long term reward is so worth the short term efforts!

I agree with Purple -  (hey woman) -- keep your eye on the prize.  When you feel hungry -- drink water.  Have you purchased those single packs of Crystal Light -- get a variety pack and a bottle of water and keep some at your desk and at home.  Also the more weight you can drop in 10 days  your liver goes down as well and provides the surgeon with additional room to work.  It's really not about losing wieght -- it's about decreasing the size of you liver.

Stay strong -- YOU CAN DO IT!

Good luck to you!
I have kinda the opposite issue-I have major kidney disease so I was not "allowed" to do the liquid pre-op diet and was kinda sad about that. I have a greater chance at having to have an open procedure because I won't have that nice skinny liver.
My surgery is 12/23..It's coming soon!
