Hello and Happy Thnaksgiving
Hello all -- I'm home recovering from a hysterectomy and will not be returning to wor****il December 29th -- so keep me company.
My sister is visiting from Louisiana and she is being a great comfort to me and my partner. My partner didn't want me to be home alone after the operation so we enlisted my sister's assistance -- she needed a vacation from our parents and her boss. I had surgery this past Monday and haven't been out of the house since coming home from the hospital on Tuesday. Maybe she and I will get out of the house next week. It will be another week or two before I'm suppose to get behind the steering wheel.
Well stay warm and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

What a great "win-win" situation! You and your sister get the opportunity for a bonding visit, you're not alone while recouperating -- giving your partner peace of mind, your sister gets a much-needed stress break. Lots to be thankful for!
It's about 11 degrees outside and I live in a small cottage across the road from the ocean so it's pretty cold here. Perfect for snuggling with my partner and our two doglets, though, as I recover from my surgery as well.
Take care of yourself and continued healing while you enjoy your sister's company!
BURRR! That's cold. It was nice out today -- my first day out since being discharged from the hopsital. We went to a pre-Thanksgiving Dinner that this family in Baltimore City hosts every year and it was off da hook -- the food was -- string beans -- always happy to see them on any menu -- love string beans -- I can make a meall off those by themselves.
11 Degree temp -- snuggling with your favorite girl and the doglets (must be little people).
You recover and recup as well. I know you're going to be happy with your decision as well as the results. Stay in touch.

Yeah, it was a quick decision to have surgery. February the fibroids where as small as grapes and then BAM! them things grew and started causing all kinds of problems. And what's so odd -- I'd be in pain AFTER my cycle and not during. So we pretty much decided to take things out. She said well, you're not having any babies so might as well not prolong the inevitable. When we first discovered them the deal was "as long as the fibroids don't bother me; she want bother them."
She is a great doctor and surgeon. I like her -- think I'll keep her as long as she's in practice.
Oh we are going to have an easy Thanksgiving. My partner's family lives in Philly and we're not going there and they aren't coming here and none of my other family members are coming here because they live in GA (with children) and my parents are in Louisiana (and don't fly). So we will have our usual -- I think my sister is going to cook. My partner has requested some Louisiana stuffing.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well.

How cool that your sister is helping out. It's always nice having family come and help. I don't know what I would have done if my grandma hadn't came to help after the RNY. Enjoy the time you have with her and try not to go too stir crazy stuck in the house.

When I had my RNY we didn't need an extra hand -- Thank God! I was up and driving the day after I was out of the hospital. I told my surgeon he was good because my stomach only felt as if I'd done too many situps -- now I can't do any -- not at least for another 3 weeks.
No got plenty of cable channels to watch -- my sister can drive so we'll be getting out a bit next week --if only just to the mall for a few minutes. She's leaving on Saturday so we've got to find souveniers for her to take home.
