Blood pressure and pulse

My pcp has been changing my bp meds since it keeps dropping with my weight. The last couple of days I have been lighted headed when I stand up and have felt like my pulse is racing. I went this morning to Cvs and checked it, my bp was 118/77 which I know is good, but my resting pulse was 104 does that sound normal? or should I be concerned?

Thanks Jeff

BP is within normal range, but your pulse sounds a bit high to me...  Do you know what your pulse rate usually is when you go to the doctor?  Have you checked your pulse again since you were at CVS this morning?  If it continues to run high, I'd encourage you to call your doctor and get checked out.  Better safe than sorry -

Hope you're feeling better soon, Jeff -

Doctor just called, she thinks its coming from not getting in enough fluids. So I am going ot be sipping all night long. If not better tomorrow she is going to see me in the office.

Hey Jeff...For sure check with your Doc.    However, I get a little dizzy if my water consumption is low.  Hope that helps!

Be well,

Sipping the liquids all day is very important.  Think of some kind of game to make it work.   Mine during the day is I cannot leave my des****il an inch of water is gone, and when I go to the bathroom, I must drink and inch of water...........
Get well soon!!

High pulse with normal or low blood pressure is usually dehydration. The thing I am most concerned with is called orthostasis. It is a large change in your vital signs (bp,pulse, respiratory rate) Going from laying to standing or if more severe from sitting to standing. You should change positions slowly ESPECIALLY WHEN GETTING OUT OF BED IN THE MORNING !!!  go from laying to sitting to standing....take some time in between (the standard is 2 minutes where I work) This will prevent you from getting dizzy....falling or worse passing out.

WITH YOU DECREASING MEDICATION AND HAVING TO WORRY ABOUT DEHYDRATION....THIS WILL BE IMPORTANT FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS.....

IF YOU ARE NOT AWARE I AM A NURSE...I COME FROM THE BACK ROUND OF BEING A REHABILITATION NURSE (RAN A UNIT FOR 3 YEARS, I NOW WORK AS A CHILD PSYCHIATRIC NURSE OUR UNIT IS THE ONLY UNIT IN NEW ENGLAND THAT WORKS WITH CHILDREN WITH ACUTE EATING DISORDERS....(HOW IRONIC !!!)

Has your doctor explained why all this difficulty with your BP and pulse is it just your changing body???  Are they expecting this to normalize???? I hope. Honestly I would think you would be in the hospital if the doctor was too concerned about it. Just make sure you keep them informed.
