I'm all packed and ready for my surgery tomorrow!  I feel very positive but just want to get it over with and move on to the next chapter.

Still won't know until surgery if I'll end up with RNY or VSG, but I know my surgeon will make the right decision based on my current health conditions, etc.

Packing List
Light robe
Nightgown
Slippers
Toiletries
Bra without an underwire
Chapstick
Comfortable clothes for the ride home

Did I forget anything?  Do you think I need to bring a heating pad?

I just want to say that I have learned so much from all you wonderful people.  I feel as prepared as I will ever be.   Thanks.

Good luck, I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts for an uneventful surgery. On your packing list the only thing I used was chap stick. It was easier to use another hospital gown instead of a robe with the iv and everything, they have the snaps on the shoulder. I did take a pillow I used on my tummy on  the ride home.

Good luck, Jeff

The only thing on your list I used was chapstick and comfy clothes for the ride home. The toiletries I used were the hospitals but I did take my own toothbrush. Also each hospital is different so they might not give you them. I used the johnnies for a robe and nightgown. I didn't take slippers since I was told to bring non skid shoes. The last thing I thought of was a bra. The girls were swinging free the 4 days I was in. Much more comfy.

I would suggest a tank top or t-shirt if you have it if you have to wear a binder. It keeps it off your skin and makes it more bearable. I also took breath spray to help keep my mouth moist. Yeah I had swabbies to do that but breath spray helps you produce your own spit for moisture.

Hope you get this before you go!

Good luck!
