WHAT DID YOU PAY FOR PSYCH.. REVIEW????
Last week I had my first appointment with the Psychologist for my Psych review. Or first visit was only about 20 min long and most of the was to fill out paperwork. (I dont understand it) At the end of that visit the Psych,, (a very STRANGE MAN) advised me that once he verified insurance that he would cb and schedule the next appointment bla bla bla bla.. So today I got tired of waiting for the man to cb so I called him.. He called back and scheduled and advised me that my CO pay for his services was $$$$$$$150.00.. According to my insr co when I called 3 weeks ago they covered 100% of anything Psychiatric (I work for FEDEX they dont want anyone going postal) Do you think the Psych,,,, might be trying to take advantage of me?? With a 100% coverage,, I didnt think there would be a co-pay at all let alone 150.00 co pay.. What did you all pay for that??? Just wondering.. ANYONE ELSE WITH CIGNA OUT THERE??

It sounds very fishy to me. I would call your benefits rep immediatly and see what's up.
I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!

check out a different Dr. Call your insurance company  and find out if your Bariatric program includes psych; which sounds like it does. I would stay away.

Oh I already called him and fired him.... I told him I didnt appreciate getting taken advantage of because of NEED and pos.. my address. I also called and talked with someone at my insr company they will fallow up with him and handle the matter. I hope there's a fine or something THE MAN NEEDS TO PAY... I still say sane people should be put through that.

I have Cigna for mental health stuff. The psych I saw was out of network so I had to pay about 300 for all of it. I do get 3 free visits a year then it's a $15 co-pay. I work for a bank. Ya think we would get free mental health stuff working with some of our stupid customers (1000+1000 does NOT = 1000) and stupid tellers.

I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Sounds to me like the psych doctor was out of network.

Also in todays insurance world, most providers have electronic access to benefit information via Ecare, NEBO, or WEBMD. This requires no call to the insurance company at all. They can check co-pay, deductible remaining, almost anything really having to do with eligibility and benefits. This could be why they show no phone call from any provider checking your benefits.

But it always comes back to how you feel about the provider, so if you were not happy with him, it is best to find someone else who you feel more comfy with. I would also call Cigna to see who is in your network.

Mine was included in the cost of the bariatric program.  Covers two appts with the nut., psych, exercise phy.  Covers all appts with the doctor too.  Total cost was $1041.

I paid 300 for mine.  Doctor does not bill insurance directly, you have to go to one on their list, and none of them take insurance for the psych eval.   It is just a cost you have to absorb for the process in our town.  I can send in the reciept and try to get reimbursed, but we shall see.
