this makes me angry
i am so glad that i only have 5 more days of this crap and will not have to buld ads like this any more. we have several churches that run ads with us each week and it's really more like an article than anything. (we have a standard layout that they always run and we just pop the text into it and go on our way.) well, this is what i had to "pop in" to one of the ads today for this weekend:
"NO TOLERANCE!
The order of the day is to be tolerant towards different views, opinions, and of course, lifestyles. Thankfully, the average Californian is more, “morally conservative,” dare I say, “Intolerant” than their elected officials and judges towards homosexual marriages and proved it on Tuesday by adopting an amendment to their constitution banning such marriages. Congrats to Arizona and Florida for doing the same, too! This is comforting news amidst the recent in-roads made by homosexuals in getting Americans to be more accepting of their, “alternate lifestyles,” thanks in part to Hollywood and some liberal media folks.
In spite of Americans electing a morally tolerant, politically and religiously very liberal President, perhaps the average American is actually more intolerant and unaccepting of same-sex marriages than certain people would like to believe. I believe there is still hope for our nation! Nonetheless, Christians must not compromise their beliefs and practices for the sake of being politically correct. This determination does not originate with man. The apostle Paul commanded Timothy, “As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, remain in Ephesus that you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine, nor give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which cause disputes rather than godly edification which is in faith” (1 Tim. 1:3,4).
This, “doctrine” of which Paul writes of can only be referring to the gospel of Christ. That is all that can be taught, nothing more and nothing less (Romans 1:16). We must, “contend earnestly” for it (Jude 3). Where there is truth, there can be no tolerance of sin and error. It must be fought!"
wth kinda stone-age are we living in???

Ok since they used the bible here is what I have been dieing to ask someone. When Jesus was asked which of the commandments was the greatest he responded to love God and the second is like it. Love your neighbor. In otherwords. LOVE PEOPLE!!!! This is all about hate and the God and Jesus I know is about love. Ok I'll be good now. Good luck with your last few days there. Your job should have had someone else "pop" that in.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Yesterday Santa Clara County (my county) joined numerous other counties in california to petition the California Supreme Court to direct State officials to refrain from implementing, enforcing, or applying Proposition 8. The lawsuit asserts that:
"the California Constitution does not allow a bare protection clause. The 911 Amendment to the California Constitution creating the initiative process provides that, while initiatives can mend the Constitution to help further it's purpose, inititatives cannot be used to revise it's basic structure, whi*****ludes the notion of equality. Thus, Proposition 8 is not a valid constitutional amendment."
I spent about an hour on a confrence call with representative Mark Leno, amongst others, and they are all quite hopeful we will win this lawsuit.
I feel sorry for the people like in your ad. I would be very sad if that much of my life were taken up with hate..
