Upper GI is Done!!!!!

I made it through that nasty upper gi...I think I made myself expect the absolute worst and it turns out it wasn't that bad. They flavored it with vanilla, and gave you a special straw so the texture was not really an issue.

They took 7 tubes of blood, an ekg, abdominal ultrasound, and the upper gi...I then saw a NP for the final clearance. Tomorrow I have my final visit with the surgeon and as long as the blood work comes out ok, I am all set for Nov 21st......I am a little worried about the blood work because I have a cold and my white blood cells may be a little elevated, but I am hoping for the best.

Thanks for everyone's input in the taste of that crap. It really helped mentally prepare me.

Closer and closer!!  Yipee!!!  I know you are anxious.  I still wonder why I was not given anything to drink...

Not sure why you didn't have to do the upper gi... Even though it was a little nasty, it was kinda neat to see my stomach on the monitor and the barium stuff moving through. It was so clear,and the doctor was funny, so that helped.

Oh man, sometimes I worry about myself.  I never had an upper GI.  I had an upper endoscopy and was put under.  Hence the reason I did not have to drink anything!  LOL

LOL Imma worry about myself too since I thought they were the same.

Being asleep would have been my preferred method.

Not so much for the taste, but they fill you up with that stuff, then manipulate your body all over to get it to pass into the intestines so they can see how your plumbing works normally...That was very uncomfortable and yuckky feeling.
