I need to stop being so nice

Has anyone else had an huge increase in people saying totally butt hole things to you lately?

I know I've gone on a lot lately about my struggles with insurance reps and whatnot but today one the nurses at my doctor's office took the cake with the rude thing. I explained to her my situation and let her know that I'm having to file an appeal through my work. Her reaction was "don't get your hopes up."

Now don't get me wrong. I know she's got a lot of experience with this and she's probably right, I'm probably not going to win on this but to me it's worth trying. Couldn't she have come up with something better to say? Like "well, I haven't seen a lot of success with that, but good luck" or something like that? It just makes me wonder if people just have less manners than they used to. I'm 32 years old and my Mom still feels compelled to smack the back of my head and call me by my full name when I stick my foot in my mouth. I think we should still have that in real life.

It's still not as bad as my sister saying "I don't know why you're bothering" when I told her I wanted to have the surgery in the first place. Trust me. There was a come to Jesus Meeting on that one.

LOL I was just telling my boss yesterday that I am going to start teaching people manners since they were reaised with none!!!  Oh my don't get me started!!!!    And as for mothers I just say what the hell good happened in her life in 1953 and then we both laugh and she knows to back off a tad!  85 and still my mom!!!
And like hell you are going to lose with the insurance bs.  There is insurance help with oh and a wonderful woman on the lap band board that helps people as well.
LOL as for your sister I have my own sweet dear wonderful brothers to content with!
good luck!

Keep fighting!  I still think you need to look into your boss or who ever telling you that you need to diet first.  That is bull****

MEDICAL people can be just WAY to BLACK and WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Often times they come across as really non supportive. But, honestly if you think about it their job is often to deliver bad news the we just dont want to hear. I honestly dont think that the nurses point was to come across as cold but, though it might have. I do agree she could have said that in a more compassionate manor but really would that have made it any easier??? Your sister?? There's no excuse for family not BEING SUPPORTIVE.

Amen to all.

And trust me. My sister got her attitude back ten fold. Even my mom got pissed. There's just something about Mom chewing out my sister for something that she said to me that makes me want to stand behind Mom and go "neener neener neener" LMAO

I'm the little sister dammit.

Oh my mom gets it. It just makes her crazy. This will be the first procedure I've ever had that my mom can't be here for. She doesn't like the idea of her baby getting cut and her not standing over the dr's shoulder LOL. I thought if I explained to her what a bypass entailed she might feel a little better. Boy was that a dumb idea. As soon as she saw the diagram she decided she needed to be someplace else really quick.
