Should I eat???

So now that I can eat (pureed food) and now that I have had an emotional breakdown over food, I cannot eat.  I am not hungry.  Should I force myself to eat a bit or concentrate on the liquids?

Hi there!  I am not a doctor or anything remotely qualified, but I did have the VSG about 1 month ago.  I completely understand where you are coming from, I had the emotional breakdown as well and then got mad when I figured out I could not eat either. 
Don't beat yourself up with it, it will come, believe me.  Concentrate on your liquids and PROTEIN right now.  Then you can work up to eating smaller things.  You will also get used to things not tasting the way your mind thinks they should.  It all comes with time, but it's so worth it.  YOU are worth it!!!  Keep your head up and your eyes on the prize!!!

First and foremost, make sure you are getting in your protein. If you need to rely on mostly liquids to do that, keep using the liquids. At this point, you could start trying just a little pureed food once or twice a day and work up to a higher percentage over time.

I went through that..
just concentrate on your Water, and Protiens.. do your shakes! if you doc allows them...
mine didnt.. You WILL get t a  point where you have to eat.. but dont beat yourself up.. it will take time..

 I think it's up to you.  As long as you are getting in your protein and liquids for the day, you can wait a little on the eating.  I'm going to try to say on the liquids a little longer just to improve my weight loss in the first month.  Plus, I'm scared to death of a leak!!!

That's all that matters in the beginning...

Hang in there. You'll be able to eat more than you want before you know it!
