Pureed food ideas
Is there any "must haves" for this part of my post op crap?? Just wondering if anyone had any great ideas that sat well. Any vegan/veggie ideas would be great since I am vegan...but I can always substitute in any case. Thanks for the ideas! I cannot wait to have some mashed potatoes!

Well..I have tasted it. When my kids were babies, and I remember thinking how could they eat this crap..lol But, I am still gonna try. I like the fact that baby food doesn't have any added crap in it. I look at my stomach(after WLS) as a new tummy just like a babies, and I'm going to have to start out slow and without salt, sugar, and bad carbs. I'm not saying I'm going to like it, I just think it may be best for me. I'm sure my positive thinking about baby food will change after my first bite though...lol
hehehehehehehhee.......I'd rather starve than eat baby food LOL but remember, you can always spice it up somehow! The best birthday present I ever got was a really nice FULLY STOCKED spice rack! If I'm going to have to eat something that doesn't taste so well then by god I'm gonna make it taste fabulous with spices!
hmmmmm......during my pureed stage I had a lot of puddings and pureed cream of chicken soup as well as tomato sooup with unflavored protein powder. I think I also had refried beans too I think as well as cottage cheese but I'd be careful with cottage cheese.......I still have minor issues with it.
Now I do eat a lot of vegetarian "meats" like bacon and sausage but i still eat regular chicken......i don't eat beef or anything like that anymore. Your options will become much wider when you get into soft foods and then regular food........pureed is a hard stage and thank god it doesn't last very long.

See, I am allowed to have soups on my full liquid..strange. I have been eating veggie broths, and even soy cream soups blended to become thinner. My doc said pureed can be anything as long as it is blended to a smoothie consistancy. I LOVE the fake meat stuff! A lot of it I do not eat becausee it contains eggs, but Boca and Morning Star make some EXCELLENT stuff! Yum..I am excited thinking about it. I love beans! I am not big on puddings..this may be hard!! I am sure I will be a lovely person to be around as hungry as I have been lately.

I am a ***** for morning star LOL However I think when i was in pureed stage (the soft food stage) I was also eating chicken salad as well on townhouse crackers (really soft crackers that mush really good when you chew). I also think I was eating scrambled egg beaters but with chicken and egg beaters and things like that a lot of people have trouble with them but i guess I was lucky.
As far as veggie meats I get nothing but morning star.......they are the best IMHO.
