Frustration
So we waited all day yesterday for the biopsy results. I finally called the surgeons office and found out the results were there sitting on his desk, but he had not reviewed them yet. They refused to tell us without him looking first which I have to tell you made me hot! We own the results. We paid for them, not the surgeon. There is no interpretation needed by him, the pathologists at Stanford did the analysis. Its just a report saying what it is. I told the nurse, you know, our whole family's life is on hold for the information you have in front of you, and you wont tell us? The surgeon promised us he would get us the results no later than wednesday. She just told me it was office policy. Basically tough **** I am OVER not knowing. Just sayin.
How totally infuriating and insensitive!
Can his office at least tell you when they expect him to be able to contact you? They can page him between surgeries (they know his schedule). This is outrageous, Barb, and I'm sorry you're going through this.
Can you contact Stanford directly to get the results (explain the problem to them)?
Of course my first reaction was to call Stanford and ask for the results. However voicemail hell makes that impossible. She said she would talk to him between surgeries today and have him call us this morning, but now its after eleven and still no call. I just called my primary care physician and asked them to call and get the results from the office for me. I hope that works. They wont tell another doctor no, and they are totally willing to help so thats my backdoor for the moment. Hoping it works!
