Looking for lap band folks BUT I will not discriminate

Hi. so many folks have had the RNY and so few the Lap Band. I am starting to feel like the "redheaded step-child" Would like to talk to some folks who have had the Lap band to get an post surgery idea of things. Thanks ~~~ Becca

Hi there! I am a bander and just love it!!! I lose about 3 ti 5 lbs a month as I am a slow loser. Everyone is so different! There is a lap band board and the people are very helpful and friendly!~Ann~

I'm gonna get the opportunity to have a sleeve. I love you all the best, then the VSG folks for the info specifically about my surgery, and the WA state folks thirdest best because I figure I should get to know the neighbors.

Thanks Brenda. I'm sure it will go fine. He seemed quiet supportive of the VSG. I still am a little leary that I might need the dumping, because I'm quite the sugar addict, but the malabsorption disturbs me - I'm not good at consistency with pills. Twice a day I can do, but more than that and I screw up.

Becca, both my partner and I have the band. We are coming up on a year and both have lost around 80 lbs. Some months have been slow but all in all we are very satisfied. I am on the band board a lot as well as here and on the Illinois board. You will find there are others of us bandsters here on GLBT board. Ask whatever you need!

Welcome !!! I am a Bander !!! 1 year out and about 90 down....I have not been able to go to the gym due to my crazy work schedule. I would be at goal if I had been able to continue !! I have had no complications and it has been the best thing I have done in years. I was very concerned about absorption. I am on several medications to treat my bipolar disorder. I was afraid their metabolism could be affected. I also wanted to make sure if for some reason I got sick I would not have to worry about malnutrition. I worked as a rehabilitation nurse and know that if you contract cancer nutrition becomes a big issue. The lap band has the lowest complications profile. You also have the option to go for a "revision" if it is not working for you ...like a sleeve or RNY

Please PLEASE FULLY RESEARCH BEFORE MAKING A DECISION !!

visit ALL the boards !! also UNDERSTAND "WE" are ALL BIASED TOWARDS THE SURGERY "WE" CHOSE...IT IS HUMAN NATURE.

YOU WILL BE SUPPORTED HERE NO MATTER WHAT YOU DECIDE...EVEN IF YOU PUT YOUR DECISION OFF !!!
