UPDATED: 6 month diet... thinking it's been shot to hell
Ok we all know that if weigh****chers and what not worked then none of us would be in the WLS boat.
With that said... the past 2 weeks have been hell.. I've totally fallen off the horse. I haven't journalled, and I've screwed up royally on the weekends (Family events both weekends... pizza and wings seesm to be the get together food of choice)
I have no clue how the ^*% I'm goign to make it through the holidays lol
I just hope it doesnt make the approval process hard and they deny me because of a failed diet. I'll feel like an idiot if I just wasted 700 dollars on the 6 month diet (7 doctor visits at 70 a pop and two 11 week sessions of WW at 120 a pop)
I'm so afraid to step on the scale tonight... wish me luck :-(
*****update******************
You guys are awesome!! Thanks for the great words of hope and support
I stepped on the scale today.. AND LOST 1.4 LBS!!!!!!

Ok Tony, take a deep breath. ***In, Out*** Relax a little and get back to doing what you should. Like you said if it worked we wouldn't be here. You didn't hear it from me but fake the journals. I would NEVER do that.
I got approved cause I faked some (not all) of my two week food logs. The infamous cousins are doing WW and the one that has lost the most follows it soooooooo stricktly during the week and goes off it on the weekends. But she doesn't go crazy, she watches what she eats. That's what I did with my nut's diet. Hence, the faking. Don't stress it. We are human and if we mess up after surgery we have a few options, get sick or well, get sick.

Journaling can be a challenge because you either forget to do it or you're just to afraid to put everything in there... But, its a good habit to get into,, So keep it up.. It makes you accountable to yourself. It dosent help you if youre not honest.
If I may make a suggestion..
Journal at the beginning of the week. Sit down one day (I use Sunday) Write out your entire journal for the week like a menu... Leave spaced for the EXTRAS (We know there will be EXTRAS). And leave a space to write how you're feeling at the end of each day.
Use the menu as your shopping list shop THAT SAME day and purchase only the items on the menu.
This method has worked like a charm..... The Journal is not to make you feel GUILTY or DEPRESS YOU or DEGRADE YOU... Its a tool to use to hold yourself accountable to yourself and keep you on track and it keeps you ORGANIZED...
Try it.. I WORKS I PROMISE.. But, you have to do it.

Tony,
It's the same after surgery too. You can sneak an extra snack or something not very healthy and you may not feel any effects from it. The best thing you can do is leave it as it is and get back on that horse and take it from there. We ARE human beings and we are bound to falter but the thing is in this situation, we have to try to not do it again. if it happens again, then we get right back on that horse. You're doing great! I agree with kathy. fudge the numbers babe. Don't mess this up for yourself. I messed mine up and I had to diet for almost a whole year before I was able to get my paperwork to the insurance company.

Tony,
This is a journey where you learn along the way. Guess what, you stumble now and then. What is important is that you learn from these episodes and become wiser as time goes on. No, you did not waste money. Your physician supervised office visits will track your health and help you understand and focus where you need to be. To me WW is worth the money. We may not have been stellar successes at it, but it taught me valuable things that you will use once you are post op.
Now that you recognize that you need to take some corrective action, go ahead and do it. My advice is to sit down and write up some goals. Don't' make them too hard and unobtainable. Now, make sure some are easier and some are a reach. Set out a plan to meet them over 3 months. Yo will be surprised how much this makes the task easier. And.. make sure they are all not just pounds lost, but behavior change goals too.
So many people suppose things about these 6 and 3 month diets. I work for a large insurance company. I can tell you that they are almost always to set a baseline for you in terms of documentation and health history. Nothing more and nothing less. Don't read a lot into the results at the end of the diet. What will count is what your doctor documented and the need you have for the surgery.
Take care and keep on posting!
