Happy October 1st
October is my favorite month. I love fall and the smell in the air always brightens my day. Also, my boyfriend and I have the same birthday( 13Th), and every year we go and stay at a cabin for a few days. I love to wake up in the morning and sit out on the porch swing and drink my coffee. It is so beautiful there with all the fall leaves. I love sitting around the fire at night and just relaxing. I really enjoy being outside and enjoying nature, but this year, I really need to get away. Luckily I don't have any appointments for my WLS, so I can relax and leave everything behind for a few days. Another thing I love about October is Halloween. It's my favorite holiday. It's a fun holiday..I have loved Halloween since I was a kid...

. So we are planning to take a little break around here from talking about it and planning. My wife's birthday is Oct. 12th. She doesn't really want to go anywhere, but agreed we could do one night away. So we are going up to a B&B on Capitol Hill in Seattle just for Sunday night. So we get to hike around Seattle for two days. We have Monday and Tuesday off to play!!!

We don't get to have the colors change here. Very sad. I swear I am going to get out east some time to see it. I hear it is amazing.

Happy October everyone! We're not exactly getting crisp, cool fall weather today - it's f*ing hot out, but it is the Jewish holidays and that traditionally means heatwave time. Don't know why.
Halloween was my favorite holiday growing up - well, first of all - CANDY. Of course it was. I used to sort and count out my haul like a miser counter up their stacks of gold. I guess it was obvious where I was going to end up... It is also one of the few regular holidays that didn't make me feel left out for not being Christian. And then, dressing up in a costume was the only way I ever felt "cute". My standard costume from about 5th grade on was a "bum" - wearing a big pair of my father's pants, one of his jackets, his shoes and a hat and a sad-face clown mask that somehow enhanced the look, enhanced by a rubber cigar. I guess I could never compete with the princesses.
Now, Halloween is my dog's birthday. He'll be two years old at the end of the month and I'm hoping for some settling down and an end to the endless distruction and badness. This is what I get for acquiring a demon born on Halloween, I guess.
It's also the end of the billable year at work, and I'm hoping to make plans for medical leave to get the reconstructive plastic surgery as soon as October is over! So there are a lot of ends and beginnings involved in this month.

This year.. for the first time in about 15 Years. i'm Actually Excited about Dressing Up.. and going to a party.. I'm getting to Portray my very Favorite Charicter from a Mercedes lackey book Called Vanyell.. and i'm Estatic about doing so!!!
now i'm not SKINNY by ANY MEANS! BUT.. i'm finally in a size 38 pants.. for the first time since High School... so i think that i can pull it off...
