Is it me?

So I went to a bridal shower yesterday and got royally pissed off. Not just cause I remembered past one but because of my hubby's aunt. He has two cousins that have been doing Weigh****chers. One has been wonderfully succesful and the other has done good too. (We are talking the one has lost about 70 and the other has lost about 30.) They started this since their brother is getting married. I was sitting next to the aunt. She looked at the one that has lost the most and told her how wonderful she looked. I was like what am I chopped liver and do I look like **** since I had to go drastic on what tool I used. This is how it has been the whole time. I get pissed when they just gush about the cousins in front of me then don't say a damn word to me. It really hurts. Is it wrong of me to feel this way? I know I should just let it go but it hurts so bad that they ignore me.

Sweetie, you have all the right to be upset. Your Aunt is being very disrespectful. She must not have a clue of how hard you worked to get to where you are. I can sit here and tell you to not let it bother you, but I know I would be just as hurt and upset.  Whats important is how you feel about yourself. What other think or feel doesn't matter. Just hold your head up high and be proud of the beautiful woman you have become. We are all very proud of you here...*hugs*

This is easy for me to say, but I wish you *had* said "so what am I, chopped liver?"  and laughed -- it would be interesting to see what she said.    Anyway, whatever kept her from saying something to you is something about her, not you.   Maybe she is not as comfortable with you as her side of the family, maybe she's afraid of offending you or saying the wrong thing.

This is meant to be smart a$$ed but not at you... How hard is it to say ya look good. I wouldn't be offended.

So why give here power....why look for approval from a *****

No, it is DEFINATELY HER!! What a ***** You are doing this for your health and you are ROCKIN'. Don't let the witch get you down. Maybe the cousins are making permanent life changes. And maybe they won't be able to keep it up. You know we have all dieted and had at least some success. Are these her girls??? Cause my *****y comment back is "Isn't it wonderful there is a program to teach them things you obviously didn't so that now they can actually loose weight?"  (Course I wasn't sitting there.) Sides' who knows. The 70# success might actually have a lap band and who would know.
