OMG there are others!!! Whewwwww
Hey Ya'll,
Sort of a newbie here, and sooo glad I found you all!
I am only 2 weeks out of surgery and starting to get back to my old, "OLD" self.. LOL, you know, the one from many yrs ago when I was sooo active that I didnt know what was on TV.
There is one problem I was hoping to get some help with. Since coming home from the hospital, I DONT SLEEP!!! I go to bed, freezing, sleep for about 1- 1 1/2 hours and then I am up with night sweats and completely WIDE AWAKE! I feel like I am going to lsoe my mind! I desparately need to sleep!!
I have fibromyalgia so I use to take some meds to sleep, but after surgery my surgeon told me not to take them.
Any sugggestions?

Are you still having night sweats, chills etc. If so PLEASE call your surgeon's office. I don't think that is normal. And I'm a nurse.
Oh, and it stuck my reply in the middle of the thread, which is NOT were I asked for it to be.

I had and still have the same exact problem. Insomnia and freezing all the time. So I go to bed in sweats and a sweatshirt and wake up drenched in sweat.
My doctor has prescriped me Trazedone (sp?) it seems to be working most of the time... And it's non habit forming. I also start my going to bed ritual with a cup of sleepy time tea to help relax me a little.

Sweeny,
I did not have that problem with this surgery. I did a few years back when I had a coronary triple bypass. I would wake up after 3 or 4 hours. I found the best thing to do was get up and do something productive. I actually had a computer project I wanted to do for years. I would get up and work 1 or 2 hours on it and then go back to bed. My sleeping habits were like that for about 2 weeks before they returned to normal. Not sure if that is your issue., but that was the solution that worked for me.
