+ energy please. surgeon consult today (long)
I go in to see the local bariatric/general surgeon today for a consult, but not a bariatric surgery consult.
I have been having reflux, hiatal hernea and gall bladder problems for at least 5years. (maybe like 20 years!) Two weeks ago the gall bladder thing got real bad. So I have been off work almost two weeks.
Liver labs/pancreatic labs - normal
The ultrasound was 5 days after my acute attack - no stones.
The hida scan was 9 days after my acute attack - 'normal' per the med assistant.
But I still have pain, bloating, gas, nausea, reflux, and a feeling like something is swollen up under my right ribs. When I stick to protein shakes and bullets I am fine. More energy than I can believe. Feel great, minor discomfort at worst. When I get non-compliant - DANG.
So off we go to the surgeon.
Worst case - he blows me off entirely and I go see the GI guy next Thurs. Continue the behavior modification diet plan. Go back to work next week and try not to blow the diet.
Bad but not horrid - he will do the lap choly, but the hiatal hernia repair will have to wait for Mexico when I have my VSG.
Best case - he entirely believes me and tells me he will do surgery to fix the hernia, sleeve the tummy, and remove the gall bladder all in one go.
Please pray for me that I get #3!!!!!

Good luck! You might have passed a stone into, I forget where. It has to do with your liver tho. So if you start going yellow it's bad. Hopefully the surgeon you see does the sleeve so he could do that but if not consider another option that he does do if he can give ya a three for one.
I shall now be know as Hagatha: Queen of the queens.

Not yellow yet Trust me DDP is watching like a hawk. She's quite worried about my liver. But I never drank, so I have a bit of leeway LOL
I am interested to know what types of surgery he does. Not a fan of the lap band for meself. I tend to over-heal and I'm afraid my body would overreact to having a band.
Also concerned about the malabsorption/ later complications of the RNY. Maybe I'm just a worry wart, but I'd like to keep the anatomy as close to the original as possible and still have a tool for wt. loss.
