 Hey brothers and sisters!

It's been awhile since I've posted. It's been insane, getting home from surgery, packing, moving, unpacking, etc but we're in our new country home, and things are going great.

I'm down 70lbs since surgery, and tomorrow is my one month anniversary for surgery, so I'm blown away by that.

Whew.

Hope all is well out there :)

This weekend we're having a tupperware party and stag. If you're near Ottawa and want to come let me know!

Ottawa Canada that is :)

As I get closer to my surgical consult, I realize how much you and my other brothers and sisters here inspire me and help me gain clarity. Thank you for sharing your triumphs (no matter how "insignificant" you may think they are) as well as your challenges.

Question for anyone:

What would you say was the most difficult obstacle to get through in the month(s) immediately following surgery?

For me, the biggest obstacle was eating too fast in the beginning.

Congratulations on the new house, wish i was closer buddy i would be there... My biggest obstacle was eatting to fast , but then again i am still having issues with the food.. Go buy some toddler spoons and forks.  I have switched over to them to help with the amount of food i am putting in my mouth at one time, and it does work alot better.

I still find that it's easy to eat too fast, and I'm 9 mos. out.  Sometimes I finish eating well before my SO (except that my serving size is a lot smaller than his.)  Something I still have to work on...

Dehydration.  I didn't drink enough water post-surgery and made myself sick.  It didn't help that I had the post-surgery runs.

A little Pedialyte and lots of water fixed me up.  I drink about a gallon of water a day now.  No more dehydration.

For me it is drinking with meals. It is important not to drink much or at all. It is difficult ...I used to drink up to a liter with every meal. I also struggled NOT to drink Diet Soda....Man I used to drink amazing amouts. Well I am getting better at it......and I have not had ANY diet soda.....even though I dream about it like an alcoholic.

Congratulations! Wow 70 pounds in one month. I was six months last Friday and just hit 72 pounds... That is a major accomplishment.

Getting to hungry is one of the biggest hurdles. I am full one minute and starved out of no where. Then I eat to fast and to much and feel sick. I have to still literally count 40 chews with each bite.

I have found a new way of life that has kept me at Goal since 2008.. And keeping it that way!

Congrats on all the changes -- especially the weight loss.  There are more changes to come.
