open rny???
Had my open rny 7 weeks ago. only issue i am having is that part of my scar is a little red. I called Dr. S and he told me that it was normal, its part of where the stiching is and it may puss some.
Well the swelling has gone down but man does it keep on pussing out, i clean it out a few times a day.
Did anyone have this issue? and if so how long does it last? I am sick of getting up in the morning and having blood spots everywhere..

Hey dude...you might need one more round of antibiotics...
make the trip to the doc....make him look at it...I think They think...if it's not bad enough to come in ..it's not bad enough to worry about...
I know it's a pain...but he really has to see it to treat it...
(unless he uses the psychic friends network)
I don't know if my experience with lap GB surgery is relevant, but when I had that 4 years ago, the gallbladder itself was removed thru a large incision on the inside of the navel.
Well, it took a LONG time for that incision to stop "weeping" (the others healed up fine.) I must have been placing gauze in my belly button for at least 2 months. I went back to the surgeon (the same one who ultimately performed my RNY) at least once, and he reassured me that this wasn't evidence of an infection, and that it would ultimately stop. And he was right.
Do you have any further followup scheduled with your surgeon's office? I would at least get them on the phone and describe to them what you've described here. (But you probably have done that.) I'd be completely unable to assess the state of an incision (and whether it was something to worry about or not) without speaking with my surgeon or someone in his office.
Good luck!
