Okay....what do you singles out there do when you are seeing someone? Do you tell them about your surgery ahead of getting intimate or what? If so what exactly do you say? Actually my scars are nothing....it is my extra skin that is an issue. Thanks! deb

I found it easier to let the guy know. If he could accept me as I am, scars, loose skin, and all - great. If not, he didn't deserve me. As it turned out, I met a great guy on 12/29 and am now spending my life with him!

I would (if I was dating-lol) be totally upfront with someone. I think that everyone deserves the chance to know and understand something that is so incredibly HUGE in our lives. They are going to notice that you don't eat that much if you were to go out to dinner, etc... If they have an issue with you or your past life or your WLS, then chances are you don't need to be with them in the first place. You are worth more than that! Best luck - ~Peace, Laurie ;)

Wow, you guys are all so honest...that is great. My close friends know I had surgery but everyone else knows I exercise a bunch and don't eat much- I say I don't eat carbs except complex. I also had a breakup after my surgery so alot of folks think it is from stress or that I am pining away... Well Friday night I was out and had three women sort of vying for my attention and I thought I better figure it out soon. I have heard some straight women say that they have had guys drop them when they tell them (because you could get fat again and they don't do fat). But sounds like the gay consenus is honesty is the best policy. Sounds good to me.....so any lezzies have similiar or different opinions??? deb

Nothing but honest in my book. I met my girl when I was on the road to surgery. She fell in love with me fat, and now loves me loose skin and all. But God forbid I end up in the dating scene again, I would go for honest every time.

I don't know how I would handle that. I have issues with my skin, but my partner does not. Rachelle
