ok so there's this guy who USED to be on my myspace friends list (http://www.myspace.com/artistmonday for anyone who wants to add me, btw...) and he posted a bulletin yesterday about boycotting mcdonald's because they support ssm (same sex marriage) he posted this email that he got from the afa (american family association) requesting that people read and repost and sign a petition to ban same sex marriages KNOWING FULL WELL THAT I AM A LESBIAN AND THAT I WOULD READ HIS POST!!!!
wtf yo?? what the hell is wrong with people??? and what is wrong with same sex marriages anyway? are we hurting anyone with our unions? OH HELLS NO!!! i mean if anything at least we aren't out trying to RECRUIT OTHERS into our "lifestyle" or whatever. right?? if we have a solid union with a committed partner then we aren't out trying to find ANOTHER partner so what's the big ******g deal already???
argh!!!!! omgs i am just so angry right now that i can't even see straight!!! i posted the following comment directly onto his bulletin and then deleted him (but idk if it'll even show up anymore since i deleted him ~ but at least i got it off my chest!!!)

I hate morons like that. I'm sorry but I don't feel like my marriage is "threatened" by two men or two women getting married. I feel it is more threatened by two people going off in a drunken hormonal rage and getting married in Vegas or Reno. Those are the marriages that make a mockery of marriage. What a fucktard!
Unfortunately to many people in our fine country have Charles opinion of gay marriage. Hence the continued battle for our community.
Even though it is legal here in California we are still battling it on a federal level. Hell with propsition 8 we are still battling it at the state level. Until the day comes were we are all recognized as humans with equal rights all we can do is donate, demonstrate, educate and VOTE!!

Living in Texas I get this response a lot but you know I always come back with the whole thing about the word marriage...." I personally (IMO) don't care if I can get "marriage" - I want to have legal rights with my partner. If that means getting married, legal unions whatever - I just want to be able to make medical decision for the person I love, I want to be able to collect her SS as she would mine because I love her and want her to be taken care of if something happens to me. I would like to be able to file joint income tax if it benefits us.... I only care about the legal issues. So if it offends you if I use the word "marriage" then use the word legal rights or union. Words are sometimes just that, words... I want the action."
It is suprising how many people step back and say... you are right, that is just a word, now I see why you are so concerned and then they tend to back down. Coming from a very conservative state, city and family.... if I makes it personal to me and my girlfriend then people tend to change their tones.
Sorry you had to deal with it but at least you were able to get your point across... hopefully he will think twice. And seriously - who is ever going to boycotte MickyDee's...
