Hello all... It has been a while since I have been on the site. Good to see all the posting, and congratulations to those that have recently had WLS, and to those on the journey. I had lap RNY back in 2004... but will be having a revision, called the ROSE procedure on July 15th. My stoma has really stretched, and my pouch is a little big too, so that will be fixed for me.... and I am very excited about it. I have to also begin a two week liquid diet, that starts on July 1st. I very well remember that, from my original surgery..... not fun, but worthwhile in the end.... Hope you all have a great weekend... it is HOT and Humid here in Fort Mill, SC where I live... which is just a few minutes from Charlotte, NC. Take Care!!! Mike C.

As someone who is still gathering information on different surgical options, would you mind sharing why your stoma became stretched and your pouch got too big? Is that a common risk with RNY? Thanks -- JP

Hello... thanks for the email... You can read my profile, and it tells of the emergency surgery I had to have.... during that, the surgeon had no choice but to sew my stoma a little bigger, so I could get fluids and food down.... as I had gone so long without anything, and my body was depleted of many vitamin and minerals.... and over time... it is now known, that some peoples stoma and pouch can stretch some.... that is normal from what I have read/been told.... Good Luck with your decisions... WLS is a great tool.... even with my complications, I would do it all over again.... I am excited to get the revision... as it will help me lose some more weight.... and put the stoma back to the correct size, so food won't just fall through..... Take care! Mike
