Well i did call the Dr office to let them know i was no longer employed. and wanted to see if anyway they could move me up.. Well they did get me a new date in July 21. Wish they had sooner.. Has anyone else had to use cobra? Scott

Sorry to hear you got laid off. That happened to me in December '05. That's when I decided to go to nursing school. I ended up NOT using my COBRA 'cuz it was too damned expensive (about $600 per month), but if you can afford it, your policy shouldn't change at all. Good luck.

I've used COBRA a couple of times, and it can be expensive (gad, I can't imagine what it's like now), but it had the advantage of being an 18-month continuation of your current coverage, so there shouldn't be any question of WLS being covered, if it was already. Sorry to hear about the lousy news. /Steve
