.. your parents have named you if they didn't choose the name you have? How about, if you wanted/had to change your name now, what would you change it to? My parents almost named me Victoria. If I were to change it I'd want to be Astrid.

idk what i would've been named other than the name i have because i wasn't supposed to "be" in the first place. i was a mistake... an accident... whatever. so, my first name "amanda" my dad chose after one of his ex-girlfriends in order to **** off my mom (and it worked) and then my mom got to choose my middle name. i was 6 weeks premature and they thought i was going to die anyway so when my granddad asked my mom what she was going to name me she said that it didn't matter because i was just going to die and he said "well, you have to have something to put on the gravestone!" so she named me "dale" after her brother that died 3 years before i was born (and who also HATED my dad, lols.) and then i lived. and pissed off both my parents on a daily basis. how's that for irony

I was going to be a Jennifer. I always thought a name that could be used by either sex would be cool. Like Samantha and go by Sam. I was/am such a tomboy.

My parents thought about naming me Allison after a friend of my father's. I like the name. However, they named me Constance. When I was a kid I had a secret name for myself--Megan pronounced mee-gan, not may-gan. So I named my daughter Megan! Connie

I was supposed to have been "the 1st son" to be named Charlie after my father. Who is an abusive alcoholic no good SOB... Needless to say, I am really glad I didn't get a penis... If I could've chosen my name it'd been almost anything but April. Crimany, my b-day is in January... I wanted a daughter to name Lindsay. Guess that's what I'd choose for myself. Cool question, by the way. ~Ape

I would have been named Christine if I wasn't named after my aunt. I like gender neutral names also....Jo, Nickie, Stevie, Sam, etc. I would definitely pick something like that. But to be hones, I like my name. It's a little different. Rachelle

Seriously, I have no idea what I would pick, but... My father's name was Charles Gordon. He wanted to name me Charlotte Georgianne. I ended up with Shirley Anna which IMNSHO, isn't much better. I like the Anna part, it's a family name and in fact that's what I was called by my mom's family as a child, because they are from Germany and had a really hard time saying "Shirley". I suppose I should be grateful I didn't get Mabel or Beulah or something else my mom thought was a good American name. She barely spoke English when I was born.

My birth name was Sharon Birch. My mom couldn't even think of a middle name for me. I seriously doubt she thought of any other name for me. I love her, but she has no imagination, LOL. When I was 15, I was doodling and spelled my name Sharyn. My mom saw it and flipped. She told me if she had wanted to spell my name that way, she would have. Well, I was a beligerant 15-year-old and spelled it that way on my personal stuff from that point on. My partner and I choose a new last name for us when we decided to have a child. I didn't want to take her last name ~ Wharton ~ and she didn't want to take mine. So we choose a completely new name. We choose Shepherd because of its meaning: guide, mentor, teacher, protector. We thought it appropriate to parenthood. Since I was plunking down the $140 to change my last name, I decided to go ahead and change the spelling of my first name, too. I hated my name growing up, but I LOVE my name, now!!! Great question. Sharyn nurse2b
