New to this board. Hi!

Hi, I'm new to this board. I had lap band about a year ago, and have posted a lot on the lap band board. Birder I (Connie) suggested I stop over and say hello, so I'm taking her up on the invitation. I'm a gay Californian who lives with my partner of 25 years. Lap band surgery is among the best things I've ever done. Anybody else planning a California wedding this summer?

Welcome to this board! We'd love to come to California and get married after 22 years together. If the law holds we may just do that! We have talked about going to Canada for years but since we are both divorced we would have to prove that in Canada and so we have not followed through. In CA our divorces wouldn't be an issue I don't think. It's amazing how easy our relationship has been compared to our straight marriages. We were both married 18 long years and this last 22 seems like 2!!! Connie

It would be great if your governor followed the example of Gov. Paterson in NY and recognized out-of-state same-sex marriages. Maybe he (or his successor) will!

Welcome! We've been together since Mar 1979 (29 years). We have no excuse for not being married, since we live in Massachusetts! I guess we just have a fear of commitment! /Steve
