Austin is WAY cool. Kinda like a little San Francisco. I would HATE to live in some of the more rural areas. Oh, wait!!! I do. Bastrop actually is southeast of Austin, but close enough. Sharyn nurse2b

You think TX is bad...try being in NC. We had to fly to Vermont to get married. I had no clue NJ even did civil unions..that would have been easier.

NJ just passed CUs February 2007. I do feel lucky to be in such an open state. We forget sometimes how "backwards" it can be in certain parts of the country.. Rachelle

U r so right!! I am from San Diego, CA and it is two different worlds form there to here. Not to mention KJ is black and I am white and we are gay, so we are always getting looks everytime we walk into somewhere holding hands! Sad world we live in!!

Def. the homophobia!! Charlotte is very diverse but you hardly EVER see a mixed couple...even in the gay world of Charlotte
