QOTD 5/15
Funny, I haven't eaten as much meat (i.e., raw chicken parts, beef, etc.) post-op because of the preparation time. I like to cook, but I don't have a lot of time these days. So I bought some tofu, but it's still sitting in my fridge because I haven't thought of a way to cook with it.
Do you have any quick, yummy recipe ideas?

Slice that tofu and press all of the water out of it. I do this between two cutting boards lined with paper towels and a couple of cans on top to weigh it down.
I usually let it marinade in whatever I'm in the mood for...italian dressing, asian dressing, peanut sauce. Let that sit while the oven preheats to 350. Line a baking sheet with foil, line up the tofu slices and let it bake for 45 minutes. Yummy!
Or
Cut it into cubes, use your favorite seasonings and pan fry in a touch of olive oil until brown on all sides.
Yes, yes, yes. I've become a Fage junkie! In fact, I've started only buying the Fage 2% (instead of the Fage 0%, fat-free), because the increase in lusciousness far outweighs the small increase in calories/serving ! (I may have to insist on the 0% or the Oikos 0% if the 2% becomes a trigger food for me. I don't keep trigger foods in the house.)
Have you noticed that as of a month or so ago, the Fage yogurt is no longer imported? It's being made at the Fage USA HQ in New York state.
Also, Wasa or RyKrisp "Sesame Rye" flatbread crackers. I always have 1 or 2 a day. Satisfies my RDA of crunchiness.

What is the one staple that you absolutely must have in your food pantry/refrigerator?
Frigo Light Cheese Sticks and Oscar Mayer Oven Roasted Turkey Breast
I wrap a slice of the turkey around the cheese stick and ~ viola! ~ lunch!!! The stats on 2 of those are:
170 calories
5g fat
2g carbs
30g protein
Quick, convenient, and easy ~ a MUST for me, since I do NOT cook. Just ask my wife, LOL!!!
