Upset

So my partner and I have been together 8 years plus. We did the domestic partnership in February.....before my surgery she told me that we were over basically....tonight I find out she is involved with someone that I work with....a formerly straight woman.... I am in shock, angry and disappointed. She did stay with me when I had my surgery...I can't believe it. I am doing pretty well with my surgery...... deb

umm... what? i'm confused. a) you guys have been together for over 8 years, right? b) and y'all did the domestic partnership in february, right? c) that's two months ago, right? d) and she told you before your surgery that y'all were over?? e) and you just had your surgery THIS MONTH??? WTH MAN??!? am i just totally confusing this whole thing? or was this really as crappy as it sounds???

Yep as weird and crappy as it sounds. Somewhere between "pledging her life to me" and before the end of February she decided to start fooling around with someone else... And I couldn't believe she told me before surgery....I mean to go under the knife all depressed is not the best way to do it.....I think it is important to have a positive attitude about healing and starting the new WLS life... oh well, life goes on and I will just be dealing with things a day a time for awhile.... deb366

omgs honey, i am so sorry! i am seriously sitting here at my desk and CRYING for you!!! oh you poor thing... is there anything that any of us can do for you? gosh i just don't even know what to say right now (and anyone that knows me knows that THAT'S a rare occurrence, lols!)

Just needed to vent some.....haven't told my friends yet...waiting until next week. Am giving her another chance to make a different decision....I will let you know how it all works out, thanks so much for the support... deb

Deb, I am so sorry for the pain. When these kinds of changes happen in my life, I do my best to think of them as opportunities for change and re-creation of my life in ways that will please me. You are already drastically changing your body, and the rest of your life is going to be changing as well. It's scary, but amazing at the same time. I hope we'll be able to support you as you sort out what this is going to mean for you. Z
