Leg pain and dizziness??
Hey, gang, I'm a week out of surgery and all was going well. Getting all my water and protein in. Up and walking around the house and about 15 mins/day outside. Other than feeling a little run down and tired from what I assume is the liquid diet, I've felt pretty good.
This morning I woke to severe pain in my lower back with some shooting pain down my leg. Also, when I get up and move around for more than a few minutes, I start to feel very dizzy and nauseous.
Has anyone experienced this post op? I think I may have slept in a kink last night, but I'm a little nervous as I can't get up and walk for very long without having this pain and sickly feeling.
David
The tiredness is from the fact that you just had major surgery. Nothing to worry about. I really didn't get over it until about a week or so ago.
Now about the pain. I would call the doctor since I have never heard anything about that. Plus dizzy and the general -ey feeling is not a good thing.
Good luck and hope you feel better.

Hey dude..
tired and run down....that is normal...
now the back pain...can be several things...lower gas...or i'm sure you have been protecting you new incisions....the change in body position can make you throw you back out..if you back is out, it will give you shooting pains down the leg....
Now the dizziness..are you still taking pain meds....they will make you dizzy...not the dizzy queen type, but real dizzy...also dehydration will do it...when stand stand slowly, and give it a sec before you walk...make sure you are stable...
Now with all that being said...on the dizzy...if you feel that you are unsafe, you wanna call the md...if the pain increases..or does not let up....call the doc....
the run down thing...remember you are trying to run a tractor trailer engine on rubbing alcohol...so it takes several months to adjust...
stay in touch
