O.K. I have not been posting much......it is not that I have lost interest...it is that I have been "STUCK" at the same weight for 2 + months......This is ALWAYS a difficult time of year for me......but I am STRUGGLING with me eating patterns.......and I have not made it to the gym....stuff I could not ignore has been getting in the way.....so I have been avoiding posting as much (I have the tendency to Isolate when I get like this)........and Oh ...I was going to post the sweater party photos and then my LAPTOP DIED ...The most useful thing I can do with my laptop is make it a bookend......And ya....I know I am getting Depressed (A LONG STANDING PROBLEM)...so it is off to the Shrink and Therapist I go......... During These times I appreciate EVEN MORE...HOW ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL MY HUSBAND IS.....

I know what you mean about the isolation.. I go into avoidance mode when I get stressed/depressed. Today's one of those days actually Hope you feel better soon.

I was wondering what was going on. Sorry you are depressed. ((((((hugs)))))). I have depression too and the winter can make me nuts. I have learned I have to get to the sun once in a while. Take care of yourself and let us support you! Connie

For what it's worth, we missed you while you were (mostly) away. Egad, this board practically diet without your regular contributions! Hmmm, I typed "diet" instead of "died". Freudian typo? February can be really tough. The last 3-4 months of cold and lack of sun can really wear on people, and even though the days are getting longer, they're not long enough or warm enough yet to break us out of our winter torpor. My SO has a light box which he uses in the morning during the winter to treat his seasonal affective disorder (SAD), which is superimposed on his chronic dysthymia. Have you ever tried that? I imagine that a vacation in the Caribbean would work pretty well, too! Hope you're feeling better, Steve

Love you Sean! I know how frustrating it is for the weight to stall in addition to the depressing winter. You will pull out of it. I am SO looking forward to spring and my garden. And how sweet of you to share your appreciation for your husband!

Sean--let me shoot you a little tough love. I had my surgery on 11/4/2003. I did everything I was supposed to do as far as eating and exercising and I lost 170 pounds in 13 months, 98% of my excess weight. I am keeping the other 2% because it looks good on me. My partner had surgery on 11/14/2004. She didn't do anything she was supposed to. She grazed, she drank fluids with her meals, she ate lots of soft high-carb foods, and she didn't exercise. She only lost 60 pounds, about 45% of her excess weight, and she is still morbidly obese. Which one to you want to be like? To paraphrase AA--It ONLY works if you work it.
