People have said this board isn't very active, so I decided to post. How about if we each post at least once a week, that would keep us more active. On the Illinois board most of us check in daily and we really are getting to know one another. Yesterday was our 22 anniversary! We went out to dinner at our favorite restaurant. Everything they serve is tapa style or appetizer sizes. I had skate (fish) with caper and lemon sauce and Kay had salmon en croute (crust) and didn't eat the crust. We shared ravioli made out of eggplant strips (no pasta) and a "napoleon" of squash and apples. It was slightly more calories than we eat but it was our ann'y and we did bring home leftovers! Everything looked like you could take a picture of it! Today we went out to breakfast with our local "family", our closest friends. The rest of the weekend has been quiet. What's going on in your life? Connie

Hi Connie, Happy Anniversary!!! I haven't been on the boards much....busy with the final planning of the Civil Union. It's coming up fast! We have our final meeting with the DJ tonight, and then on March 5th we do our "rehearsal" with our witnesses, the Reverand and my cousin who is doing the readings for us. We will take them out to dinner afterwards at one of our favorite restaurants here. This weekend I finished making the chocolates for the favors. A week before we will box them up. Right now they are in airtight containers....all 500+ of them. Rachelle

Congratulations! Twenty-two years is nothing to sniff at, considering that's how old I am Your posting idea is a good one and we should do that, at least.

I think this is a pretty active board compared to some of the others I ahve visited. I visit regularly and bet I post or reply to posts of others @ least weekly. Hmmm...what's going on in my life? Well, freezing my bum off here in Western NY. Anxiously awaiting some Spring!! Slowly approaching the 100 pound loss mark & my 1 year surgiversary date. Jut lovin' my RNY. Bought a 42" flat screen plasma TV over the weekend. Man! It's soooo nice! Almost feel like I'm @ the drive-in. Today's my day off and I am having a friend over this afternoon. That's it for me, April

Hi all, I've been sick for more than a week now. Just a pretty standard cold, but I'm asthmatic so colds can be a bit extra tough on me. I've been missing rehearsals, and will be going unprepared into a performance this weekend, so I'm kind of cranky about that. To add some extra challenge to my weekend, my furnace went out and spent most of the weekend wrestling with it and with the heating company's on-call guy who didn't really want to be on call and suggested that I should instead heat my house with my oven. Thankfully, that has all been fixed as of this morning. My intake has been terrible, since I just don't feel up to much eating or drinking. I hope things are going better for most of you! Z

Hello, I had a scope done on Friday. It has been discovered that I have an ulcer. It is so very uncomfortable. I can hardly eat a thing! I just feel sick. Other than that, I am doing good. I have stuck fighting the same 3 to 5 pounds for 2 weeks now. Anyone else experience this at about the 8 week mark? Sorry, I didn't mean to sound so depressed I am sick in my pouch, sick in my sinuses (head) and to top it off I am pmsing... So can anyone else feel my pain? Some sympathy can go a long way. Thanks for listening.

Oh, yeah. These early weight-loss stalls can be incredibly discouraging! If you read the main and RNY boards, it seems sometimes that everyone posts a similar sentiment at least once during their first 3 months post-op. I don't think we're warned enough about them during the pre-op educational process (or maybe we're just not listening: we're too focussed on the long-term dramatic results). Good luck with your ulcer; hope it heals soon. /Steve

I do, honey! Sorry you're feeling crappy, but look at it this way: this too shall pass. All of it! Suddenly you'll step on the scale and the battle will be over. Drink lots of (decaf) tea and I hope you feel better!

Today-Monday This morning I went to my PCP for my pre-op physical and EKG and off to a lab affiliated with the hospital for my bloodwork. This now completes ALL the requirements for my surgery. Tonight I went to dinner with a potential special someone and had the best chinese meal ever. 28 days to go!!!!!

Well, let's see. Sunday we were Wii bowling and I tripped on the throw rug, fell and clobbered my nose on the credenza for the tv. So finally today I went to the doc because the headache was sooooo bad I started getting concerned. Had x-rays. No break, just one eye starting to blacken and she said that tomorrow is the worst for pain (3rd day). Aside from my lack of common sense in not moving the rug, pre WLS I would never have gotten off my fat butt to bowl even with the Wii. Oh! and getting off the floor was not as hard as it was 132 pounds ago! LOL
