Ahoy! Wow, how cool is this? Just stumbled upon the GLBT message board. Hope I can find my way back. Wish me luck. I'm having the VSG tomorrow morning. Totally hopeful about this life changing decision and totally anxious about surgery. I also just stumbled on the word "bougie." I'll be sure to ask my surgeon more information tomorrow. From what I read, the results are all individual. Peace for now. Pat

First day home from VSG surgery. Boy am I grateful. It's amazing how much progress the body can make in 3 days. Everything went quickly. I only really suffered from the nausea from the morphine. Think I'll skip pain meds for awhile. The dizziness kicked my behind. Two days recuperating in hospital seemed like an eternity especially with the uncomfortable heat. My IV was plugged to the wall so I had to unplug it everytime I ran to the restroom. Needless to say, the IV wet my linen all the time. Working on hydration now sitting up at my computer. Just getting a feel for the new digestive tract. Doctor said he found a hiatal hernia (at bottom of esophogus) that he repaired during surgery. I'm going to do some research now. Looking forward. Feeling positive. How cool is this. Three days later and up and doing computer research. Peace for now and thanks for your positive replies. Pat
