Obesity and Eyesight
Evidently these two are intertwined. If you are about to have weight loss surgery; have your eyes checked prior to and make sure you tell your doctor you are about to have the surgery and you want a thorough check and documentation of an eye exam. After you have lost a considerable amount of weight or what you feel is a considerable amount of weight -- return to this same eye doctor and have your eyes examined again.
Due to headaches since December -- I've had my first appointment with the headache institute -- of course mo drugs -- yesterday I had an examine with a neuro-opthalmologist and due to obesity I have a lazy eyelid and have to have an orbital ultrsound so they can look behind the eye (left eye mostly) to make sure there isn't any water build up -- therefore causing pressure -- therefore causing the headaches. My doctor told me when they have obese patients they tell them they need to lose weight because that can effect the eyesight.
So, if you haven't had an eye exam in awhile, please go have one.
If you recall, a few months ago we recieved and email from A. Brown advising us that she was going to be off the board because now she was dealing with issues surrounding her eyesight and possible loss of eyesight. This was about 4 months ago and I have not seen her or heard directly from her -- although I've emailed her directly.
