Hi all, Anyone with the RNY surgery eat pistacio's with any luck? They are soft, salty and yummy! They stayed down for me last night, they have protien, can they be bad??? I know nut's are supposed to be off limits but these chewed up nicely. Also did or does anyone else have trouble with water? It feels uncomfortable in my pouch. Thanks, Deb

I'm allowed nuts, and I love pistachios. As for the water it took me over three months before I was able to drink the daily requirement of water without feeling icky.

Hi Deb, I eat pistacios every once in a while. Moderation is the key. I portion them out and eat only my portion, or else I can eat the whole bag without even thinking about it. Not a good thing. As far as the water, I had a hard time with plain water for about 2 months. I did alot better when I added a crystal lite type flavoring or even drank hot herbal teas. Anyway to get that fluid it. Sometimes the temperature of the water makes a difference. Try it at different temperatures. I used to drink it room temperature, now I need it ice cold..go figure. Rachelle

Rachelle, It's funny I never cared much about pistacios, but now they just are so yummy! The water does seem to go down better if it is room temp. I will try the crystal light packets today, I used to not care for them but my tastes have changed! I used to love spicy, and stuff with sauces...but now I can hardly get a bite of anything with sauce or spice into my mouth. By the way I read your post about your sister, so sorry she acted so poorly, but as you know sometimes our chosen 'family' is more loyal than our birth. Deb

I am so glad I am not the only one who has some problems with water. I have tried different temps but they are all kinda uncomfy in the pouch.

Yeah, me too. Everything I drink is at least body temp, or a little hotter. I got through 64 oz of chamomile tea most days. Crystal Lite Peach Iced Tea is good too, but I dliute it a lot. The flavor is just too strong. I have a problem with anything cold. My pouch likes WARM. BTW, Kathy, how are you feeling?
