I have been approved!!!!

I've been a long time lurker on this board. While I've not participated in too many conversations, I've found that you all are wonderfully supportive of everyone. I wanted to share that I was approved today (called the insurance company was actually approved yesterday--didn't think they would be open on MLK day). Now, I need to get through to my doctor's office. Ironically, they are closed today. I need to lose those pesky holiday pounds and then some for what my surgeon wanted me to weigh before the surgery. Anyone have any diet suggestions. LOL! David

Congrats David!!! I used a 1200 cal diet that almost killed me. It was an ounce of protein, a fat, a friut, and a carb for breakfast. then for lunch and dinner you got to add another protein and all the veggies you could eat.

Congratulations!! I lost 62 lbs before surgery by substituting on meal with a slim fast, cut the carbs way back by eating protein and 2 veggies instead of a protein, a starch and a veggie. Drink plenty of water! Good luck, Kay

David, congratulations

No diet info for your. My surgeon didn't require weight loss; however, I did lose about 1o pounds prior to the surgery. From what I understand the loss of weight shrinks the liver which in turn provides more room for the surgeon to work. Again, congratulations
