So I had the idea to invite people to our board and I figured A good place to start would be to search the interest board for men with an interest in men, I sent them this generic message," Hi my name is Kenny. You are receiving this message as a welcome to the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Forum. I found your's and so many other members profiles by searching for the male members with an interest in men. So I made the assumption that you are gay. If you are not, please disregard this message with my apologies. But if you are, feel free to introduce yourself. We are a very open and friendly bunch. Good Luck with your Journey!! http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/gay_lesbian_bisexual_transgender/posts.html " I must have sent out a hundred of them... it was exhausting.. So would anyone like to volunteer to do the same for the women with an interest in women??? Let me know...

Kenny, Nothing wrong with inviting folks. I see on the Men's Forum though that they are talking about us. Tommy

Sister Kenny..... what kind of responses are you getting....on the ones that say men,....are they interested in men or or mens issues.... I really applaude you working to build this board....I was just wondering what the ratios was ....of course some of the testoserone types will tell you go go have in intimate time with yourself... russ

Russ, Saw your response on the men's forum. I applaud you. Of course, I'm not a tactful person, so I lurk over there. Tommy

I just got 2 polite declines with one inviting me to the mens forum. I just read about my post in the mens forum. Funny how an invitation + insecure men = " Just tell him to f*ck off!" oh well. I was expecting there to be such responses. I think we are all used to what macho men are like...(in the closet). But if we get some new recruits, so be it. And thank you to you both, and a special thank you to GoToMan for Supporting me in the mens forum!

Right: Kenny, don't sweat the insecure responses from a few hypersensitive troglodytes in the Men's Forum who were in the middle of a homosexual panic after receiving your invitation; they obviously lost their ability to read as soon as the saw the word "gay" in your email. It's kind of depressing, since as long as I've read their postings, the culprits are otherwise pretty reasonable folks. It just shows all of us how easy it is to get some guys' jock straps bunched up. You also have to consider the tone of the discussion in the "Locker Room" aka Men's Forum: no holds barred, no overriding superego censoring what might appear offensive to some. Whether that's good or bad, that's the way the discussions go over there. And, once there's an eruption, everything dies back down. No grudges held. I also would like to thank GoToMan, *****sponded on the Men's Forum in a far more nuanced and patient way than I ever could. I just sat on my hands and didn't post anything, because it would just inflame and prolong an argument. /Steve

Thank You. I thought about posting a few responses too, but for the same reason didn't. For Example "There is something seriously wrong with the women you're dating if their vaginas look like lop-sided big macs.... those bumps on there are NOT sesame seeds" to brock... I knew responses like that would come but you are right, they will pass. But hopefully any new members will be here to stay and that definitely puts aside any arguments that come out of it. Good Luck on your Journey.

Kenny, From the straight, but not narrow, contingent, thanks for the invitation. I'm not sure how often I'll post to this group, but I'm glad to know that it's here. I have some friends considering the journey who may fit in better than I. Just to check - is a straight guy lurking on this board as big of a deal as a woman lurking in the Locker Room forum? Have a great day!

Hell, no! We have many "fag hags" who are part of our community here, and there's always room for "stag hags", too. I apologize in advance for implying that any of the straight women who are regulars here deserve the dubious term "fag hag", but I couldn't resist the pun. I've never known a so-called "stag hag", but I've encountered again and again straight men *****ally are into lesbian issues, and I don't mean that in a creepy, ***** sort of way. One straight guy I knew used to call himself a "male lesbian", a title that most of the women I knew might have taken issue with. /Steve
