A little discouraged
I'm a little discouraged lately. I really feel like I should be doing better. I know exercise is the key, but I don't know what is holding me back. I have excuse after excuse. I keep saying that the Spring will be easier because I can do things outside, but again, that's an excuse. Well, I guess that needs to be my New Year's Resolution...to get exercise in as part of my daily life. So that's it....My promise to myself is to exercise 4 days a week for a minimum of 20 minutes. It's time to picture myself on the treadmill or Total Trainer and working my body and getting it healthy and see myself in smaller sizes.
Here's a total by month of what I have lost. I will be 5 months out on 1/6. I am down 66 lbs. so far. 41 lbs. to go.

This is the time of year where we all get discouraged over one thing or another. Just five months out and you're down 66 pounds already. That's a great accomplishment. We all need to make a New Year's Resolution to get better at exercisinig. So let's do it together. It's easier to do it with someone. We're here to encourage each other every day. Let's do it, my friend. Happy New Year!

I am totally with you on this. I even have a personal trainer, but I haven't been working out when he's not there physically making me do it. Ugh.
Last night while I was shopping I picked up some new hand weights that I need for the circuit my trainer has given me. I also got one of those Walk Away the Pounds DVDs for cardio days. I just haven't been wanting to go down into the freezing cold basement to get on the treadmill, so I thought giving myself one more option for something I could do in the warm living room might help. I need winter to be over with. Getting in cardio by doing lunch time walks was so good for me, then I'd only have to add in a few days of strength training and be good. Instead, I'm doing nothing. Time to change it.

I fully understand the frustration! I am a s-l-o-w- loser too. I had 7 mos. surgiversary 2 days a go and have lost 80 lbs. So many others are way ahead of that. I constanatly have to remind myself that this journey is not a race and that I cannot compare my loss to others. Although we are similar, we are not the same. Keep fighting the fight and you'll keep losing. Focus on the prize baby...focus on the prize!!
I think of going to the gym as "me" time. It's the time, 3 days a week, where I let myself go, not think of work, or anything else,a nd just do some positive thinking about my end goal. I just passed my 6 month mark on the 29th, and have lost 66.6 lbs as of 12/28 (new pics and measurements posted on profile).
Another thing I did to encourage me to get more active is buy a Wii (got lucky and found one on 12/24). The sports pack can really give you a good workout!
In either case, realize you are soing great and excercising will only make things better for you.
Good luck!
