A Straight Bar

Me and Chris went to a straight bar last night for a birthday celebration for Chris's sister. Me and Chris are not bar people since we settled down in our 30's. Especially a straight bar full of drunk men. One of the friends that was with us was obviously trying to pick up a man...any man...for the night. It was quite obvious. She was on the verge of raunchy. Funny thing is, here's me and Chris, being quiet and minding our own business, and we were getting hit on by all these guys (which makes me a bit uncomfortable and creeped out). Even the DJ, who was female, was flirting with us all night. It was all strange, but kinda cool. Rachelle

Sounds like not a totally bad evening. I am straight, but regardless of who hit on me (way back in my drunken bar days) I was always flattered. Drunk men always irritate the crap right outa me...LOL Hope you & Chris have a nice holiday!!

Ah....I always get hit on in straight bars....Always....It is like they know .....I do not have that luck in gay bars

That's 'cause you're such a cutie! Seriously, I am straight and there used to be a gay bar in the next town from me and I would much prefer to go there than a straight bar. I would get hit on sometimes, but people there were much more respectful of a polite "not interested" than in a straight bar. Don't know if this is true in all gay bars, but I do believe that most straight bars are "meat markets" and not worth my time. Even if I was single, I wouldn't be looking to meet someone in a place like that. ~Shirley

I don't think bars are my thing at all, but perhaps I will go to one this spring. I now look cute in a tank top
