White or colored lights?

Hottie man & I got our tree this morning...blue spruce about 6'...I think. We've had a real tree every year since we've been married, 6 years. They are kinda messy, but I love 'em. I've always used colored lights, but most of my friends use white and they're gorgeous. So, this year I bought white ones. I always thought a tree would look pretty with nothing but white lights and candy canes. Maybe I'll try that next year. How 'bout everyone else?

I vote for white lights and have had them probably 35 years. When I was young we did a tree in pink and hot pink. I thought I was sophisticated. LOL Now we just put anything on the tree, but most of the ornaments do have a story--of a vacation, or an interest, or a promise. This year we are giving a string of Christmas lights covered with rainbow balls to our best friends. They want to string the lights on their trailer when they are camping. So we bought a little fake tree and are going to decorate it with the rainbow lights. Gay pride all the way!

We use white outside and colored on the tree. I like the colored lights because they remind me of the christmas trees of my childhood . I like the white lights outside because the trashy families in my neighborhood have the colored lights.

All of my ornaments are mix & match, but also have a story. Some are quite old. We just got the tree up & decorated. It looks nice. I think the white lights are nice. I'll post a pic or 2 later on. Ho ho ho to everyone!!

White lights for me!

Well, this year it is white lites on a white tree. Martha Stewart no less. lmao The whole tree is decorated Martha Stewart. (insert gag emoticon). but the tree is beautiful. The past couple years we have had colored lights and traditional ornaments along with bows. I love bows. We gave that tree to Sharon's daughter. She has the perfect livingroom for it.

I TOTALLY LOVE white lights outside. I have heard that is how they decorate in Germany and so it must be my German blood kicking in. (I am about 98% German so German blood will beat out the Italian blood and it ****** the mother-in-law off. Makes my day tho. ) The tree has to have colored lights but only cause that is how I grew up. I do know my hubby has tons of colored lights strung up on our ceiling and it looks cool with the regular lights out.

April, White lights are very pretty but we have always used colored lights. In fact, we still use the big C9 lights around the roof, which not many people still use. This year our front yard is the most decorated on the street. I must be Sean's trashy neighbor. LOL JM
