Partner and I are in this together
My partner had the lapband yesterday and I had mine three weeks ago--we have been together almost 22 years and now we start this new adventure together. We are both excited! I've been reading this forum for about a month but have only posted a few times. I've lost 36 lbs already and she has lost 20 in just the prep time. I have much more to lose than she does but we plan to have a ball doing this and I'll get all her outgrown clothes (good deal).

hI WE HAVE ANOTHER COUPLE THAT FREQUENT THE BOARD WHO ALSO HAD SURGERY TOGETHER. i THINK THAT IS SO WONDERFUL. mY HUSBAND IS IN GREAT SHAPE...HE IS VERY SUPPORTIVE.....WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THAT STEREO TYPICAL FAT LOUD GUY AND SKINNY QUIET GUY...THAT IS SLOWLY CHANGING......GOT TO GO ...SEAN
Congratulations to both of you.
Isn't it great the number of journeys we are able to take together that probably some of our hetero counter parts take for granted. My partner had the surgery 4 years ago and is doing well -- gotta get her back in the fitness center though.
Wow, sounds like you all are doing great on the weight loss --whatever you're doing keep it up. Yep, I wore some of her cloths too -- for about a week. I've gone from 28 to 18 in 9 months. If not for the thighs I'd probably be ready for a size 16.
Keep up the great work and let us know how you all are doing from time to time.
Have a great weekend.
My partner and I had the surgery together on the same day. Everyone was worried about what would happen if one of us needed help and the other was not able to provide it. We had our surgery two weeks ago Wednesday. Everything went fine. He is down 29 lbs. and I am down 31 in just two weeks!!!!! It is great to have the support of your lover who is going through the same things. Best move we have ever made besides deciding to share our lives together 18 years ago.

We were going to do it the same day too but the insurance didn't cooperate so we just went ahead. Since we live about 70 miles from the hospital it worked out well to do the surgeries three weeks apart, but in order to get on the same schedule for repeat visits I won't get my first fill until 7 weeks post-up. I have to remind myself that this is a life change, not a race and one week is nothing in the big picture. The only day I have been hungry was the day she had surgery so I know that was head hunger.

My partner & I have been together 17 years and had our RNY's about 3 years ago. We chose to have the about 2 months apart because our daughter was only 5 at the time and someone needed to be able to keep up with her! We are both at goal. Janet has lost ~140 pounds and I have lost ~125 pounds. Life is so much better, let me tell you!!! I am currently in nursing school and I don't think I would have been up to the physical challenges at 265 pounds!!! Good luck to both of you!!!
