ON A LIGHTER NOTE....General Question...

It is finally cold in these here parts.............It is dark in the am when I leave for work and dark when I come home.......But I love winter....... What is your favorite thing about winter?........And I know for all of you warm climate friends....Things are different in your neck of the woods....Even if it is not cold I love having fires in our fire place...We have only been in the house 1 winter...But I love curling up reading in front of the fire or having close friends over sitting in front of the fire enjoying thier company......It is a big bonus if it is snowing......

First off, I HATE the cold, but I think the best part is the beauty of the snow. There's a freshness in the air that smells sooooo good!

I agree with Sean...I love winter, and mostly because I get to put a fire in the fireplace. I don't use gas logs, either. I'd rather deal with the dusty residue and gain the benefit of the wood-smell and the crackling of a "real" fire. I also love bulky sweaters and boots...another reason winter is one of my faves. I really don't like much of anything about winter--so its a good thing we don't have much of a winter down here!

I love the look of my neighborhood when it snows a lot.. it's just gorgeous. There are a lot of trees here.

I HATE WINTER!!!! But I have to admit that it is beautiful here in New England. And curling up with the hubby that is a million degrees hotter than me is great.

Fall and winter are my favorite seasons....love to get the house all warmed up......cuddle under a blanket with Allen and watch movies..also love to cuddle up on the couch and watch it snow....its so peaceful...Hope you all have a great week... Huggs!! Randy

OK, in general, I HATE winter. I live in WI, and winter is no laughing matter here. It's 8 foot snow drifts, and slush in your boots, frozen nose hairs and frost so thick it takes 1/2 hr to scrape your car windows. But I have to admit, there is something magical about opening the blinds on the morning after that first big snowfall, and finding the landscape completely transformed into some kind of movie magic crystal and ice fairyland. And when you finally set foot outside, it's so QUIET... sigh. I guess that's one of the reasons i haven't moved yet.

I do not like the winter, but I do like the 4 seasons, which is why I always stayed in Jersey. I love the first snowfall..when you wake up and it's silent and white and beautiful. And then I have to shovel and it ruins everything! Rachelle

I love to go downhill skiing and have recently started snowshoeing. I'm so excited to do it this year with 100+ pounds less of me! I may be colder because I have less padding - but nothing a new winter coat can't fix!!
