WAAAAYYYY OT: mammogram

Hope this isn't too entirely inappropriate, given the mixed gender of this group, but given the tolerance I see here, I'm predicting I'll be okay... I went in for my first ever mammogram last week. I was a little nervous after hearing mom's version of what to expect, but mine was a lot simpler. Perhaps because I have two very fatty boobies, it was easy to flop them on the platform like dead fish...and it was so much fun to watch them squi**** It was like play-doh. In addition, the monitor was placed where I could see what they were taking photos of...so all in all, it was a pretty cool event. For those of you who haven't had one...it really was kinda awesome. Anyway, I got a call yesterday saying there was something "developing" in my right boob so they want me to come back in for an ultrasound. So, next week, I get to have someone else feel me up. Hopefully it will be as neato as the mammogram, because I really thought that was SUPER FANTASTIC! I'll update more after that appointment. Cathy

GREAT! I encourage every woman, when the time comes, to get one. Doesn't mean I'm looking forward to the time when I will have to get one but it's definitely super important. Good for you! You also hold the distinction for being possibly the only woman ever to actually enjoy a mammogram I'm telling my mom (who schedules mammograms at the hospital I also work at) that someone actually liked it lol Good luck with the ultrasound and let us know if you liked that too.

Get those boobs squished every year! It can be so important! Good luck with the ultra sound. Most of the time it turns out to be benign or nothing at all.

I have had then every year for the last 8 years--but they have definitely been easier and more comfortable since the weight loss. I know exactly what you mean about playdough--I watched mine last time just pooling out on the tray, hardly any squishing necessary--giggle.

I had my mamogram 2 weeks ago and let me tell you there was nothing neat-o about it! That HURTS plain and simple! I described it to my friend who had never had one as they take your boobie.. sma**** then stretch it across the room .. OWIE!!
