My name is Doug my partner's name is Jerry. We have been together for 18 years. We have both decided to have WLS and are in the process of pre-op sign-off. One more test to go. While we individually made our decision to move forward with RNY, we will be doing it together on the same day with lots of support from family and friends. This could actually happen by the end of October!!! I have been searching the web for a Gay forum to tap into. Just wanted to say hello and that we are looking forward to tapping in for support and advice. As we read each individual journey we continue to be amazed at the courage and drive to live healthy. We want to be a part of the pack. Doug & Jerry

Doug & Jerry, Welcome to the board. I had RNY on 06/28/06. You will do wonderful and I wish you both all of the success and prayers for uneventful surgeries and recoveries. My only advice is follow the doctors instructions to a T. If you do, it should make your journey a good one. Tommy

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. What is amazing is the all of the doctors recommended to us for our pre-op sign-of have had no problem with our being gay. They have spoken to us as a couple when every possible and today when we had our eco-cardiogram we both went in together and watched each others hearts as the test was being done. Can you folks tell me is there anything special that you did in preparation for your surgery? Would love to hear how folks got ready. Thanks, Doug
