It was actually a real fun day....and I wore 44" waist pants...for the first time in over 4 years...........and everyone was very supportive and suprised at how much I had already lost...... Sorta kinda.... Well I had been estranged from my family for some time...they are nutz...even more than me....and they didn;t even know that I had the surgery....so I was 1 1/2 years out and down 200#, when I get a call that my mom had an accident...very bad...so of course I go to see her at the hospital...when I get there she is on a vent, and the room is empty...the family had gone to get something to eat... well I was sitting there, and the family came back...and walked past the room....and to the nurses desk, and asked "who is that man with our mother???""...Whe told I ID's myslef as her son..the nurse was told...that is not possible, so they called security....I told you they were nutz....Everything got straightned out..but they just staired....they could catch the voice, but had no Idea about the body.... russ

Hi there, Sean! Congrats to you, Mister Woof! I had an open procedure because of my size (I was 408 and a 64-inch waist, it's hard to believe that I have maintained 158 and a 30-inch waist for over 2.5 years now!), and I had a great deal of complications. So, I was actually out of work for a number of months before returning. When I did return, I was already down about 140 pounds, and people were in shock! I felt like I was in a dream, it was so amazing. At one point, when I had lost over 200, I had to travel to our Texas office. Imagine this - NONE of my friends who worked there (who I knew VERY well and communicated with regularly) could recognize me! I mean literally they had no idea who I was - - until I opened my mouth and spoke! I kept getting "Can I help you, Sir" - it was hilarious! I felt like a twilight zone episode! LOL!!! At any rate, congrats again. You are going to be a super-hottie LOL..... Have a great day! I got back to work, got called in to my bosses office and she just said "thank god you're back, we need to get ready for re-survey and I just can't do it without you". I am a nursing administrator in a short term rehab, and all skilled nursing facilities get surveyed yearly. I then worked, honestly, 15 days straight getting the plan of correction written and getting everything ready for the re-survey (we did fantastic btw). I loved it. I swear, I must be nuts, but I do love my job

So you went back to work already?? I'm jealous. I have a call in to my surgeon asking if I can go back to work next week. He had wanted me to stay off for 6 weeks. I can't afford it for one, and I am going stir crazy! He is worried that when I start on more solid food I will have issues. I'll just make sure I don't eat anything new for lunch or snacks at work! I am a clinical social worker, so all I have to do is sit and talk so I don't know why I can't go! If I get to go back next week, I'll give y'all an update! Barbara
