Feeling good after five
Hey, everyone. Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. I still come every once in a while to catch up on how everyone is doing.
Well, I'm at five weeks out and I feel great. It was such a gorgeous day, I took a long walk through downtown. Tonight, I'll probably watch the sunset at the research park.
I'm down to just under 290 from a high of over 380 last summer. I've lost 40 in the five weeks since surgery. Once I got under that 290 mark, I really intensified my workouts. I'm fitting in clothes I never thought I'd fit in again.
I love the little changes. It's amazing how, as big as we get, society ignores us. I see that people notice me more. Not in a cruisy way or anything, but just an acknowledgement as you pass in the park or an actual "may I help you?" in a store. I love how when people have to get past me in a narrow hall, they barely have to move over. I don't dread seeing my reflection in a mirror at the mall or in the windows downtown.
I've finally updated my blog in more detail and have added a recent picture. Just wanted to let you all know that I'm fine!
Chris
I am happy for you, Chris. You and I are basically surgery partners since our dates are so close. My surgery was on 3.8.2007. I am a little over six weeks out, and I have lost 40 pounds, so you are doing very well!
Great job on intensifying the workouts. You're going to look wonderful at the end of your journey!
Hey Chris - Congratulations! Sounds like things are going great for you!! It's amazing how peoples' responses change as we get smaller isn't it? I've spend a lot of time pondering how as I got bigger I also became incrementally more invisible. Now I'm starting to get the same kind of reactions you're talking about.
Keep up the good work!
Steve
