Over due update
Geez, who knew it's been so long since I've posted in here? Haven't posted since I was pre-op. Anyway, I updated with some pics. Some pre op, some post but none too recent. I had lap RNY Sept 5, 06 and as of today, March 31 am at 186 lbs. My high was 380 and surgery weight was 301. Goal is 184...SO close. I'm hoping I don't have to wait until March 2008 for my Panni but we'll see what the surgeon says. In Canada, like the procedure itself, the panni is covered - thank GOD!
Still a trip going to the store and trying on size 32 pants. A big change from the 56 I used to wear. I don't really see it. I know I've lost lots of weight - I get that. But like others in here (I'm sure) I still see a fat guy looking back at me.
My dietician told me not too lose any more weight. That's one thing I NEVER thnought I'd hear!!!! For as many women as go through this journey, it seems us men are more prone to Anorexia after the fact - as we call it, Manorexia.
The ball is rolling for my relocation to the Palm Springs, CA area too. I'm hopeful in the next 2 years or so I'll be able to move for good. At least I'll be warmer than I am in the Canadian winters, LOL.
No idea if I'll be able to move or not but have just started talks with US Immigration lawyers so we'll see how that plays out.
A few set backs health wise but overall in good shape.
I've always had back trouble so that part is not fun. With shedding 190 lbs, my spine has moved around. I've grown 1/4 inch. Similar to a kid and growing pains but much more violent inside. Nerves & ligaments have torn due to my spine expanding. The pain is something I've never felt before...WOW.
Physio helps and it's lessening but still hurts.
Of course, that makes me not want to eat and with already depleted reserves - well, you all know - that's a dangerous game.
The last couple of weeks have been rough but over the worst of it now.
Hmm...maybe I'm just doing a little too much sashay in size 32 jeans & it's throwing my back out?

Okay, so after spending a day in the sun yesterday and then reading your email last night I decided to check out flights to PS today and booked myself a trip. I just went back to your email and checked your dates and my time there will overlap yours so your dance card better not be full yet! I'll be there from the 21st to the 24th. Dinner on the 23rd maybe? We can split an appetizer or something

HOT ........ HOT ........... HOT ........... What a hottie!!!! You look incredible...we need more shirtless shots...lol. You have done so incredibly well. I want to thank you for the term MANOREXIA... I have gone through this situation...and I am quite familiar with it..and the fears that it causes... Nice to hear another peson who has or is going through it...trust me...it does get better...as long as you don't overdo the need for losing weight!!!! By the way, did I say you look HOT...HOT...HOT....HOT... It is interesting to read something else you wrote... I am in a size 32 pant...I could wear a 30, but I can't do that yet... Mind issues........ However, I have noticed that all my 32 inch inseams are becoming too short. I wonder if the weight loss..has caused my spine to adjust thus causing height changes... I had a serious situation of pains... of a while...thought it was hunger pains...but maybe it was growing pains...... You have really said a lot that is interesting...and thought provoking...and by the way..... did I say..you are HOT...HOT...HOT.. What part of Canada are you in.... Time for me to take a northern vacation!!!!!!
