WOW Moment!!
Okay, at nearly 3 years post op, the WOW moments have become few and far between. But I had one today. I was sitting with some classmates this morning between chemistry lab and lecture. I pulled out my SlimFast protein drink and one of the ladies asked me "Why are you drinking that? You don't need to lose any weight. You are perfect just the way you are". Now, this lady teaches fitness classes at one of the local YMCA's!! I am so thrilled still!! I couldn't wait to get home to tell Janet and to post to you guys. It definitely made my day.

Sharyn,
Cool. I'm 5 weeks out and the oh's and ah's at work. Of course some people look at me and realized they haven't seen me in a few weeks and that I "look like" I've lost weight. Everyone in my work group now know I've had surgery -- notice I've lost the weight and we move on. It's funny and also complimenting. I'm about ready to do a Star Jones and just tell people I had a medical intervention. But I go ahead and speak about the surgery because you never know who's listening and have wanted to research the procedure but for some reason or another haven't done so. So maybe seeing me decrease every day will be encouragement to people who are thinking about it and are not sure.
Hopefully when I see my oldest Sister in June, she will be encouraged to have the surgery. She is going to have a knee replacement later in the year and will have to lose the weight any way --plus it will get rid of the diabetes.
NaDine, thanks!! It's newbies like yourself that keep me inspired on a daily basis. I, personally, told everyone who I talked to about my WLS. I still do. And you're right. You just never know when you are going to help someone make that decision or at least consider it. You're doing great!!
XOXOXO,
Sharyn
It was great. I've been at goal for nearly 2 years, so I just don't have very many of them. When I had my surgery I worked. Now that I am a full time student I am not around the same people (like co-workers) all the time, so no one really knows the fat me anymore. So this one was extra nice to have.
XOXOXO,
Sharyn
