Home from the Hospital
Dear All,
Well, it's done. I had my lap band surgery Thursday morning at Zale
Lipshy University of Texas Southwestern Hospital in Dallas. All went
well. Had the barium test Friday morning and that was fine, no big
deal.
Most of my meds now are liquid and I am now on the 2wk Glycerna,
broth, etc. diet. I go back to my surgeon next Wednesday.
My partner was able to stay with me last night at the hospital since
all the rooms are private. Everything else went without a hitch
except for the meds and food I received regarding my diabetes. I was
suppose to get a clear liquid, no sugar diet. Instead of just a
clear liquid, the popsycle and sorbet had sugar in it. Sent my
numbers to the sky. But they're back down today.
I am sore and tired, but happy. I was on a morphine pump while in
the hospital, but now on a hydrocordone liquid. What were ya'll on?
I will keep in touch and let you know the progress.
thanks,
Richard
Thanks, Steven.
I have almost quit taking the pain meds and am feeling better each day. My sugars were below 100 today! I am increasing the exercise but do tire easily. I could probably go back to work next week, but I think I am going to take the full two weeks off. I really don't want to be messing with liquid stuff at work.
My partner John has started to eat healthier and has cut down on portions. He is really being supportive with me.
Talk again,
Rich
