Hi Everyone, It's been a while...well, at my 1-year lap-bandiversary in September, I went and spoke with a plastic surgeon, I was at about 185 with my goal being 155. He scheduled me for December 11, and told me just to lose 10 more pounds prior to....well, I got to about 180 and two weeks ago as of this past Monday, I had a Lower Body Lift & Breast Lift. They removed 13 (!!!) pounds of skin/fat, and I'm now weighing in at 166. Eleven pounds and I'm done! I know a lot of people argue for waiting for plastics, but my lapband and plastic surgeon both said I could easily lose 30 more pounds without it impacting the outcome...so I figured, heck, why wait? And to be honest, I am so happy with my new perky boobs & flat tummy, I'm glad I did it now. It will be much easier to exercise to lose the last bit, and well, frankly, I'm newly inspired!!! I've put some pix up here on OH, and for my whole WLS journey, see my blog: www.sheshrinks.blogspot.com Part 2: I posted the above to the LapBand board, and got a lot of questions - so here was my follow-up post: Hi all, Thanks for all of your kind, supportive responses to my plastics post the other day! I wanted to answer a few questions that I was asked and just thought I'd do a separate post: I had a Lower Body Lift, which basically differs from a Tummy Tuck in that the incision goes all the way around your body - bikini line, around the hips, and through the low back. They actually pull up your bottom, which had a far reaching impact: My butt is firm (though, sadly, still flat ;( but it was before too!); my inner thighs improved, and well, my *hooey* is also much, much sleeker and firmer! I believe in the past they did what was called a "mons lift" but now this just falls into the LBL! My lower half, all things considered, looks great! Not perfect because you just can't fix everything, but 90% is good enough for me! The Breast Lift, for me, I opted for no implants - so I went from a 36DDD to about (I'm guessing) a 36C, on the bigger side of C. It's an adjustment, but I'm happy. They are perky and cute and I have full nipple sensation. The stitches are on the inside, and then they close the skin with steri strips, creating hairline scars! It's amazing really. Overall, I had very, very little bruising. I feel lucky on that! The breast lift pain was almost non-existant (no kidding) as the LBL pain took over - but, other than being very tight on my sides, I'm doing well and slowly getting my range of motion back. I give my recovery a solid B+ seriously, I feel like I did great, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone who wanted to do it. You can get through it, promise! Just follow doctor's orders.... The cost. Well, the cost was about $18K - 11K for the LBL, and around $7,500 for the BL. I know - it's a lot, and I'm not rich! However, due to some good luck, planning and well, having worked for a software company for 10 years, I was fortunate to have some stock I opted to sell which allowed me to pay for this. I recognize how fortunate I am to have had had the means to do this - believe me - and I know many folks don't, so please, appreciate that I am sharing the cost but with some fear of judgment ... I try to be as humble as possible about this, because truly, I feel very fortunate, blessed and lucky to have been able to afford both my LapBand (self-pay) and PS. Hope you all lap-banders got through Christmas PB-free I did! I was super careful and happy about that!!! Happy Holidays!! ~Jenn p.s. I met an awesome girl in October - it seems I actually have me a girlfriend!!! She was great through all the plastics stuff, and is stoked for when she can uh, get her hands on the new bod

All I can say is wow! I think you look great. I had my surgery in April of this year and I am only about 38 lbs to my goal weight. I should hit that by my anniversary date. I will have to wait until much later this year before I can afford the plastics, and I might be able to convice the insurance to help cover it, since I do have skin related issues. I am looking forward to having a flat tummy for once in my life. Congrats again.
