QOTD 12/6/06

Good Afternoon Family, I think we all have had a lot to celebrate recently with the holiday's coming up and all the milestones everyone seems to be crossing! So in that spirit - aside from food related - what is your favorite holiday tradition??? I think it is important to take the focus away from food whenever possible, especially at this time of year. ********************************************************* For me it would be watching the kids open thier presents on Christmas morning. I usually spend the night at my sister's house so I can be there early when they wake up. Suprise suprise they just go to town ripping open gifts and getting all excited about what they got. I just love to watch thier faces light up.

Good evening My favorite tradition... Later on that evening when we are finished with presents and dinner, we all get on the living room floor and play games by the fireplace and drink hot chocolate in our pj's. We play games all night and just laugh. We always start out with "Win Loose or Draw". Kay

I have a couple of favorites but I'll have to give a short background. I came out of a dealy abusive relationship with 3 kids, at 24,with no job ,no education and a firm decision I would not put my kids in daycare. I would stay at home with them until they went to school. It was hard but I took in other kids for money and managed it. But coming out of that made me decide that my kids and I would start our own traditions. Like birthday cake for breakfast on your birthday--candles ,presents and the whole bit . The holiday traditions we have created are always having a real tree,doing different colors every year and opening one or two presents anytime before Christmas that I let them talk me into it. I'm not rigid so we do it all how we want. Luckily I have a great partner now who joins in our traditions and likes them. Creating our own traditions has really given our little family unit god memories. Dannielle

I would have to say christmas morning we turn on the cam corder and record the opening of gifts. All the suprises and the expression on my family face. When we come up with really creative gifts. And visition relatives giving them their gifts.
